How the semester Grade Calculator works
Most schools average the two quarters, then blend that average with the final exam at a set weight. At the default 20% exam weight, each quarter effectively counts 40% and the exam 20%.
Semester = (Q1 + Q2) ÷ 2 × (1 − w) + Final × w
Example: quarters of 88% and 92% average to 90%. With an 85% exam at 20% weight, the semester grade is 90 × 0.8 + 85 × 0.2 = 89%, a B+.

What if my school weights quarters differently?
Set the exam weight to match your syllabus and the two quarters automatically split the remainder evenly. If your quarters are weighted unevenly, compute their weighted average first and enter it in both quarter boxes.
Can a final exam save a bad semester?
Only partially at typical weights. With a 20% exam, even a 100% final lifts an 80% quarter average to just 84%. The final grade calculator on this site shows exactly what score you need.
Do semester grades or quarter grades go on transcripts?
