How the aP Psychology Score Calculator works
AP Psychology weights the 75 question multiple choice section at two thirds of the exam and the two free response questions at one third. The weighted composite maps to a 1 to 5 with cutoffs that typically sit near 65% for a 5 and 40% for a 3.
Composite = MC/75 × 66.7 + FRQ/14 × 33.3
Example: 55 correct on multiple choice and 9 of 14 FRQ points is a composite of about 70%, comfortably a 5 in a typical year.
